WHAT'S ON THIS PAGE?
How do I become more involved in my child's education? When should my child apply to college? How do we apply for financial aid? These are some questions you may be asking. When you child enters high school, it is an eventful time for both students and parents/guardians. Below are some website resources for you to explore. The guide has information on school reforms, student services and more. It is translated in several languages. Parent and Student Resources, NYS Education Department http://usny.nysed.gov/parents/ The “Parent and Student Resources” section of the New York State Education Department website. This page contains various links to resources and information of interest to parents such as special education, education policies, public and private school listings and more. College Board: Parents' Guide to College http://www.collegeboard.com/parents/ Information for parents on how to help prepare students for college admissions, SAT’s and the college application process. LAC http://www.lacnyc.org The Literacy Assistance Center (LAC) a non-profit organization that promotes the expansion of literacy services in New York.
